Hugh Blumenfeld returns for his second Music By The Bay house concert. After earning a Ph.D. in English Literature specializing in William Blake, Hugh gave up a lucrative career as a college professor for a lucrative career as a folksinger. The title cut from his third and current CD, Mozart's Money on the 1-800-PRIME-CD label, comments on that. Mixing hard-hitting political songs with passionate personal and romantic songs, singing and playing with appropriate intensity and subtlety, Hugh presents a gripping and moving concert.
Opening for Hugh will be 22-year old songwriter Rose Polenzani, who was recently invited to perform on the second stage at the Newport Folk Festival, Lilith Fair in Chicago, as well as open for Shawn Colvin, Joan Baez, and Ferron. Her songs are dark and mysterious and her performance is riveting.
