Mike & Mary Rafferty
Irish Musicians
from New Jersey

with Donal Clancy on guitar

Mike was born in 1926 in Ballinakill, East Galway, Ireland and emigrated to the US in 1949, bringing with him a large repertoire of local tunes, many learned from his father, Tom "Barrel" Rafferty. He plays flute and Uilleann pipes. His daughter, Mary, plays B/C button accordion, flute and whistle, and toured for seven years with Cherish the Ladies. Between them they have five delightful CDs out (three together, and one each solo). They are accompanied on guitar and bouzouki by Donal Clancy, who has toured and recorded with Danu, Solas, Eileen Ivers, The Cheiftains, Cathie Ryan, Karan Casey, Clancy/O'Connell/Clancy, the Clancy Brothers (father & uncles), and Aoife Clancy (cousin).
